We were founded over 50 years ago, with the aim of supporting and promoting all programs which foster the responsible and safe use of firearms, bows and other implements used in hunting. We work with the government, industry and other organizations in local programs, supporting the enhancement, development and maintenance of habitat for all species of fish and wildlife in Alberta.
Kelsey has stepped in and taken on the voluntary role and responsibilities as the President of the Cold Lake Fish & Game Club. She comes with an extensive background in administrative work, as well as being an amazing mother to three children, she is no stranger to multitasking, keeping an organized schedule, or supporting others in their roles. She is ready to build the club back up and become the go-to club in Alberta.
Kelsey moved to the Lakeland region in 2011 where she continues to enjoy all the area has to offer. This includes not only the many beautiful lakes surrounding the area but also the hunting and bio-rich foraging opportunities.
Kelsey was a member/volunteer for fifteen years with
Game Country Archers in Grande Prairie before she moved. Since moving to Cold Lake, she has been involved with the
Cold Lake Minor Soccer Association through volunteering and mentorship.
"My goal is to see the club grow and flourish into a teaching and mentoring style of club."
Rob was born in Cold Lake and works full-time as a crane/boom truck operator. As an avid fisherman and shooter, he saw an opportunity to give his knowledge, expertise and time to the community through the voluntary position of - Vice President for the Cold Lake Fish and Game Club.
Since becoming a member and stepping into the VP position, Rob has been getting into archery through the club to expand his knowledge and abilities to help others.
Rob is married with two grown sons and hopes to grow the club into a teaching and mentoring club for youth and adults. Between the members and Rob, there are copious amounts of experience to share with young and old alike.
Ray is the longest-standing member of the Cold Lake Fish and Game Club, holding a continuous membership for almost three decades. He became a member in 1995 and after two short years, he took on the role of the club treasurer, which he has maintained ever since.
Over the years Ray has played a crucial role in numerous reconstruction phases and updates to the club and our ranges. Ray has kept the dream alive by dedicating countless hours of his time to the development of the club.
He has actively pursued Alberta Environmental to have Tiger Trout and Brook Trout stocked in Little Bear Lake and has been working with ACA to hopefully get Little Bear Lake aerated in the winter. Ray has also provided assistance in coordinating with the Cold Lake Fish Hatchery for spring stocking of the Medley River.
“I joined the CLFG because I saw the opportunity to provide something unique for the Lakeland area.”
Joseph has been a member of the club since moving to Cold Lake in 2017. As an avid outdoorsman and bowhunter, he is passionate about the conservation and education of today's youth when it comes to the outdoors, preserving those opportunities for the next generation.
During Joseph’s first four years with the club, he sat on the board as Archery Chair. Through this time, he saw significant improvements to the range, new targets and our chase through successful grant applications while also hosting two archery shoots.
Joseph has now stepped into the Secretary role alongside the new executive to best serve the club's future. He is very excited and looking forward to bringing forward many exciting and new opportunities with the club in the coming years.
“It looks like a park up there and I’m proud of it.”
Don has been with the Cold Lake Fish and Game Club for over ten years and is working hard to make our club the premiere Fish and Game club in the Lakeland and Alberta. He has had a seat on the board of the Cold Lake Fish and Game since 2011 when he and his wife moved here from Victoria for their kids and grandkids.
Prior to retirement, Don had been an automotive mechanic for five decades. His position with the club is centered primarily around maintaining the grounds and appearance of the upper Archery range, which includes the twenty-lane 3D archery course. Due to his past work history, Don also maintains the range equipment for both the upper and lower ranges.
